Coaching weekend with Sharon Babb and Erin Howden
Coaching juggernauts Sharon Babb and Erin Howden came to Pride of Portland this past weekend (Jan. 31 and Feb 1) and wow! What an unparalleled session of coaching and choreography! We can't wait to incorporate the changes and rock the stage at Regional in Spokane in April. The bios of these ladies (below) speak for themselves - they were everything these say and more! We can't wait to get them back again.
Sharon joined Sweet Adelines International in 1969 under the direction of Sylvia Alsbury and has been active ever since as chorus director, chapter and regional administrative leader, certified judge in both sound and music, judge specialist in music, master faculty, chorus and quartet coach, International Board member, and--always and forever—a baritone. She is a retired English teacher and principal and is a much sought-after emcee, novice arranger, and coach.
Erin has gained international renown in the barbershop world for her innovative and clever choreography. She first came to the spotlight as a member of the North Metro Chorus in Toronto where her choreography helped launch that chorus to three gold medals. A member of North Metro since she was 13, Howden learned barbershop under the leadership of her mother, North Metro Director June Dale. She also serves as a faculty member of Sweet Adelines International and teaches at music schools throughout Canada and the United States.
