Vibe Quartet   Aloha!!
Vibe is very excited and proud to be representing Region 24 in Hawaii this November 2008 as contestant #36! We are also proud to be singing with Pride of Portland who is also competing in the chorus competition in Hawaii!

Joyce Wheeler, (lead), Paula Gadowski, (Bass), Lisa Hendrickson (tenor), and Sandy Cahill (baritone) comprise Vibe, a quartet that (re)formed in 2007 from the first place region 24 quartet, Unlimited!, who won the quartet contests in 2006 and 2007. We are so happy to have a local quartet! (P.S. We are available now for local gigs!)

We are very grateful to our chorus, Pride of Portland (and Sandy’s chorus, Cascade Harmony) for all their support – we couldn’t do this without you! Thank you thank you thank you! Can’t wait to see you around the region and in Hawaii! Aloha!!

Fourth Avenue   Formed as a quartet in late 2004, Fourth Avenue has been having a ball! These ladies love to perform and compete, as well as have a great time singing the music they enjoy.

Fourth Avenue’s full, warm blend and classy, fun, presentations entertain and transport audiences.
Strong barbershop roots, love of tight harmonies, and appreciation for all types of musical styles is just the tip of the iceberg in describing this quartet.  You'll be swept away by their energy and their love of performing.

Martini Quartet formed in July of 2007 over a round of Cosmopolitans at Sandy's place in Tacoma. Right from the beginning, they knew they had a special blend of flavors and colors ..... Martini is shaken AND stirred!

After the retirement of Brava! in 2007, Sandy & Shannon weren't finished singing together.  Lisa Myers' quartet, Take Note, had also just retired.  A few months later, Sandy & Shannon got together with Lisa to try out the vocal match.  It was instant!  After a four-month baritone search, DeAnne Haugen provided the olives and toothpicks, and, VOILA...the Martini of their dreams was served!  Martini had their first rehearsal in Sept of 2007, and it was clear that this quartet had goals of going all the way to the top.

Being a long distance quartet does have its challenges.   Shannon drives 3.5 hours south, Lisa drives 3.5 hours north and DeAnne flies 3.5 hours west to Tacoma.  Sandy feeds and houses them during their extensive weekend monthly rehearsals.

During their short time together, they have had the opportunity to be coached by some amazing people:  Carole Kirkpatrick, Elaine Cotton (talented Brava! baritone), Judy Pozsgay-Rimple (Mojo bass) and Sean Devine (OC Times lead).

In April 2008, after only five rehearsals, Martini competed in the Region 26 Convention held in Vancouver, BC, Canada, where they placed first with a regional record-breaking score of
623 points.  This has qualified them to make their international competition debut in Honolulu in November of 2008
