Pride of Portland Chorus is sponsoring a Quartet Match-Up party that is open to all Sweet Adelines who are interested in being in a quartet or finding someone for their mostly-built quartet! People not ready to take the leap but wanting to test the waters (and have some real fun) are welcome as well. You are welcome at the party even if you can't come right at the beginning or stay for the whole thing! Come when you can, we'll be happy to see you. NO obligations!

Once at the church, the parking lot is in back. Go in the door closest to the parking lot, go downstairs and turn right. We'll be in a room at the end of the hall.

Due to the short notice and since it is open to all, we will sing "Harmonize the World" and "How We Sang Today", both of which are available in the SAI Mass Sing Songbook, a great book of 16 songs.
You don't have to buy the book, of course. Theoretically, you know these two songs already!

At the party, we'll have a chance for everyone to give a little background about herself and say what she is hoping for in a quartet. Music leaders will be there to help match your voice to other participants. You will also learn about:

  • Voice matching - we'll identify your strengths and point out the kinds of voices that will enhance your sound while you enhance their sound for an optimal blend.
  • We will tell you some ways to find quartet-mates (like this party!).
  • We will provide links for:
    • Guidelines for Forming a Quartet
    • New Quartet E-Packet
    • Quartet Name Search
  • We will provide info on how to find sheet music and learning tracks.
  • We'll also try to have info on local coaches

This is a low pressure party. Even if you're not ready right now, you'll get a shot at singing in quartets! Everyone will be in the same boat, and we all want each other to succeed. We are sisters! Everyone has a first time at some point...everyone. It will ultimately help you grow your self-confidence.
